Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) entered the Malaysia Cup final after beating Perak 3-0 in the second leg semi-final match at Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Larkin Stadium, here last night.
JDT made the final on a 4-1 aggregate. Perak held JDT to a 1-1 draw in the first leg semi-final match at Perak Stadium in Ipoh on Sunday.
In the match tonight, JDT were the more aggressive side in the first half and made several raids on the Perak goal mouth.
The first clear chance fell to Ignacio Bohigues in the 30th minute but his shot from midfield was pushed out by Perak goalkeeper Muhammad Hafizul Hakim.
JDT got another chance ten minutes later but Mohd Fadhli Mohd Shas was denied a goal by Perak goalkeeper Muhammad Hafizul after he connected a fine pass from Safiq Rahim.
After the break, JDT finally broke the duck when Gonzalo Cabrera opened the score in the 57th minute with a goal.
Gabriel Guerra made it 2-0 in the 74th minutes to break the heart of the travelling fans of the Bos Gaurus squad.
Cabrera wrapped the match 3-0 when he scored a goal in the 80th minute.
JDT will meet Kedah in the Malaysia Cup final at Shah Alam Stadium, Selangor on November 4.
