Two buses belonging to the Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) football club parked at the Federal Reserve Unit 5 area in Sungai Senam here were splashed with paint early today.
Ipoh police chief ACP Sum Chang Keong said in the 4.15am incident, a policeman patrolling the area heard noises from where the buses were parked.
He said the policeman rushed there and saw two men outside the fence of the area, however, both of them fled on a motorcycle.
"A check found the rear of the vehicles splashed with paint.
"The police also found a burst plastic bag containing paint on the ground," he said in a statement here, today.
Sum said the investigation found that the suspects threw paint at the bus from outside the fence at a distance of about 25 to 30 metres away.
He said the two suspects who committed the act had yet to be identified and police were conducting further investigations under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief.
JDT are in Ipoh for their Super League match against Perak at the Perak Stadium here tonight.
The Perak Football Association (PAFA) had previously been penalised to host three home matches behind closed doors for failing to provide adequate security to control The Bos Gaurus fans' behaviour during a Super League match between Perak and JDT on Aug 6, 2016.
