Defending champions, Johor Darul Ta'zim led 14 teams in advancing to the third round of the FA Cup following the conclusion of the second round matches last night.
JDT beat Felda United 2-0 at the Stadium Tun Abdul Razak, Jengka with the goals provided by Gabriel Miguel Guerra in the 12th minute and Gonzalo Cabrera in the 79th.
Three-time champions, Kedah also advanced to the third round after a comfortable 4-2 win over Kuala Lumpur in the match played at Stadium Darul Aman, Alor Setar.
The four goals for the Red Eagle squad came from Liridon Krasniqi in the 32nd minute, an own goal by Kuala Lumpur's Zaiful Abdul Hakim (35th minute), Muhammad Farhan Roslan in the 41st and 62nd minutes while the two goals for Kuala Lumpur were scored by Guilherme de Paula in the 76th and Ibrahim Syaihul in the 90th minutes.
At the Pasir Gudang Municipal Council Stadium, two-time champions Pahang recovered during the 30-minute additional time to beat Johor Darul Ta'zim II 4-2.
Brazillian import players, Matheus Alves and Salamon Raj netted two goals for Pahang in the 104th and 109th minutes respectively.
Earlier, both teams were tied at 2-2 after 90 minutes of play with Muhammad Hadi Fayyadh scoring two goals in the 34th and 38th minute for JDT, before Pahang equalised through Mohamadou Sumareh from Gambia in the 46th and 67th minutes.
At the Petra Jaya Stadium, Sarawak beat Premier League bottom team, MISC-MIFA 6-3. Filipino import Mark Andrew Hartmann was the toast of Sarawak when he scored a hattrick in the 11th, 59th and 80th minutes while Mateo Roskam contributed two goals in the 23rd and 37th minute and Ronny Harun scored in the 33rd minute.
The three goals by MISC-MIFA were scored by Michael Chuwubunna Ijezie in the 69th and 77th minutes while Ooi Shee Keong scored in the 56th minute. Melaka United edged PKNS FC 1-0 at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka, with the solitary goal scored by Mohd Amri Yahyah in the 65th minute.
In this regard, five-time champions Selangor and two-time champions Kelantan were eliminated from the competition after losing 3-4 in penalty shootouts to their opponents.
At the Selayang Stadium, Selangor drew 0-0 with Negeri Sembilan while Kelantan drew 1-1 with PKNP FC at Stadium Perak in Ipoh after 90 minutes of play.
Two other second round matches will be played tomorrow.
They will be between FAM Cup champions KDMM FC and MOF FC at Likas Stadium , Kota Kinabalu while Perak will play Selangor Malay Football Association at Perak Stadium in Ipoh.
