Will it be The Elephants trampling the Southern Tigers or getting mauled by the latter come the Malaysia Cup final on Nov 1?
This is because the final will be between defending champions Pahang dubbed The Elephants and Super League champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), who call themselves the Southern Tigers.
Pahang had booked their place in the final yesterday after an 8-1 aggregate win against Kedah in the semifinals while JDT joined them tonight when they defeated Felda United by a 6-5 aggregate.
JDT who had lost to Felda United 3-4 in their first leg semifinal match at the Selayang Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, rose up to defeat the visitors 3-1 at their home stadium, the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin here tonight for a 6-5 aggregate victory and a place in the final of the prestigous tournament.
In tonight's match, both teams wasted no time in going for the jugular but the hosts were the first to score when their import player Luciano Gabriel Figueroa fired home a free kick taken from outside the box.
However, their joy was short-lived as Mohd Raimi Mohd Noor Namun replied for Felda United when he slotted in a cross supplied Makeche Ndumba six minutes later.
In the second half, both sides were in attacking mode but Figueroa once again had the home crowd of more than 30,000 fans in rapturous joy when he earned his brace in the 63rd minute after receiving a neat pass from Jorge Pereyra Diaz.
The Southern Tigers sealed victory when Amri Yahya netted their third goal in the 71st minute.
However, JDT will have to play the final without their talismanic captain, Mohd Aidil Zafuan who picked up his second yellow card in the 66th minute of tonight's encounter.
There were also ugly scenes in injury time forcing referee Suhaizi Shukri to dish out the red card to JDT's Mohd Nazrin Mohd Nawi and Felda United's Abdul Latiff Suhaimi.
