KUALA LUMPUR: Defending Super League champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) thrashed Penang FC 3-0 last night, while the action between Sabah FC and Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC was affected due to bad weather in Kota Kinabalu.
The Southern Tigers' second victory over Penang FC this season sees them with 30 points after 13 matches, while the Black Panthers remain in fourth place with 22 points.
JDT opened the scoring through winger Muhammad Safawi Rasid who put in a cross from teammate Safiq Rahim in the 15th minute, while Brazilian import striker Bergson da Silva scored in the 43rd minute from an S. Kunanlan assist.
National naturalised player Mohamadou Sumareh scored in the 51st minute after being brought on in the second half by JDT head coach Benjamin Mora.
