Johor Darul Takzim fan seriously injured after falling from stadium
A loyal supporter of the Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) football squad was seriously injured after falling from a height of 15 meters at the end of the match between the team and Pahang at Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium here yesterday.
In the incident at about 10.45pm, the victim, Rosdhi Rosiman, 29, was reported to have fallen while attempting to take down a flag he had put up at the back of the stadium.
South Johor Baharu police chief, ACP Zainuddin Yaacob said the victim was believed to have been knocked by spectators who were jostling to get out before the match ended.
"The victim, wearing a Johor jersey was probably standing on the fence and fell in the crowded situation.
"He was still conscious when being sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital Emergency Unit but he is currently in a coma at the intensive care unit," he said when contacted here today.
However, he pointed out that the incident did not involve any criminal element. The victim, who works at a lamp factory here, was reported to have sustained injuries on the head and abdomenand had undergone a surgery this morning.
Meanwhile, the victim's younger brother, Roshanajid Rosiman, 28 said he and his brother with several relatives and friends went to the stadium to witness the FA Cup semi-final match between Johor Darul Takzim against Pahang.
He said he was not aware of the incident that befell his brother until there was a commotion among spectators that someone had fallen.
"When we rushed down I saw my brother lying unconscious but there was no bleeding, maybe the injuries were internal," he said when met at the hospital here today.
