The Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar on Wednesday contributed RM4 million to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, in a statement today, said the contribution was part of the conferring of bonuses to the national under-22 squad (U-22) for qualifying for the final round of the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Championship in China.
"The contribution can also help FAM in the overall development of national football," he said.
The national Under-22 squad under Datuk Ong Kim Swee performed excellently during the qualifying rounds in Bangkok, Thailand in July, emerging champions in Group H with six points.
