Kelantan coach Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah is confident his boys would be able to block Pahang striker Dickson Nwakaeme when the two teams meet in a Super League match at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here Saturday night.
He said The Red Warriors' (TRW) defence headed by Australian import, Jonathan McKain would be capable of stopping the former Kelantan player.
"We know he (Dickson) has his strength and this is quite obvious of late so we have tighened our defence to neutralise them (Pahang).
"They have the deadly duo of Dickson and Matias Conti and I heard Alex (Mohd Azamuddin Md Akil) has also recovered, so we have to be extra cautious," he said when met by reporters here today.
Mohd Azraai Khor said his squad needed to win in the encounter to build the confidence of TRW supporters as well as players' morale.
"This is the first time we are playing on home ground and we have to protect our pride even though they (Pahang) are strong so we need to play according to our way and keep to our plan," he said.
He said Kelantan are also looking to their Colombian striker Erwin Carillo to form a formidable force with other local forwards.
"He is strong and I hope to field all import players in the match to check Pahang," he said.
Kelantan are currently at the eighth spot in the Super League with seven points from two wins and a draw in six matches.
