Kelantan moved to the top of the Super League table after winning their second consecutive match by beating Singapore's Lions XII, 2-0 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, here on Sunday night.
Kelantan took the lead as early as the sixth minute when Jonathan McKain scored off a corner from Mohd Fitri Omar while coach George Boateng's boys made it 2-0 in the 42nd minute from a superb free kick from outside the box by Mohd Badhri Radzi.
Lions XII came close to reducing the deficit three minutes later but Zulfahmi Arifin's free kick sailed over the bar.
The trail of missed chances continued in the second half, especially for the visiting side, as both teams moved into attacking mode from the start of the second half.
About 20,000 fans who filled the stadium to the brim, observed a moment of silence for the demise Sports Presenter Datuk Hasbullah Awang on Thursday, and offered prayers for the death of their beloved former Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, also on the same day.
Kelantan who have six points from two wins in as many matches, face Police in their next match at the same stadium on Feb 21, (Saturday).
Perak, despite having the same points and goal difference are second place while Felda United are third with four points from a win and a draw, the same as Sarawak in fourth place.
