National singles champion Datuk Lee Chong Wei has expressed interest to continue with his badminton career.
He had earlier said the World Championships in Glasgow would be his last tournament before hanging up his racket.
Met by reporters while attending the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games today, the badminton ace who is ranked fifth in the world said his responsibility to the country is still not over.
"I have still my roles as there will be more major championships. I want to represent the country some more. There is the Commonwealth Games and Thomas Cup which we have not won for a long time.
"In the next few years I will do my best for the sport," he said.
Chong Wei who suffered a shocking defeat in the hands of French player, Brice Leverdez in the first round of the World Championships in Glasgow said he would discuss with Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and men's singles chief coach Datuk Misbun Sidek on his future.
