Singapore’s LionsXII emerged champions of the Malaysia FA Cup 2015 after defeating Kelantan 3-1 tonight.
The Red Warriors gave it their all throughout the 90-minute match but the fight by LionsXII was just too tough to beat.
The first goal was scored by Singapore’s Under-23 winger, Muhammad Faris Ramli just six minutes after the match kicked off at approximately 8.57pm.
Kelantan equalised at minute-62 when winger Wan Zack Haikal scored.
Sahil Suhaimi scored the second goal for the LionsXII at minute-81.
The 23-year-old concluded the win by scoring with a penalty kick during injury time.
The match was played at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
It was the first ever Malaysia FA Cup final for LionsXII while Kelantan had won the cup twice – in 2012 and 2013.
