Malaysian wushu exponents began their second day of competiton at the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games (KL2017) with a gold and a silver in men's qiangshu event today.
Yeap Wai Kin accumulated 9.68 points to upset compatriot and World Cup winner Wong Weng Son who took the silver with 9.65 points at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here.
Indonesia's Muhammad Daffa Golden Boy claimed the bronze with 9.63 points.
In the women's qiangshu competition, Vietnam's Thuy Vi Duong clinched the gold with 9.67 points while Malaysia's Phoon Eyin and Myanmar's Oo Sandi took silver and bronze with 9.66 and 9.65 points, respectively.
Another national wushu exponent, Khaw Jun Lim bagged the bronze in the men's daoshu / gunshu category.
A total of six gold medals were at stake in the wushu arena today.
