In the semi-finals, the national team had no problems disposing of hosts England 3-0 while India too cruised to an identical 3-0 win over Singapore.

Day Four also saw the national contingent pocket two more medals - a silver and a bronze.

The national women's table tennis team contributed the silver medal after losing to Singapore in the final while the bronze came courtesy of lawn bowls veteran Siti Zalina Ahmad in women's singles.

The national weightlifters, who performed superbly to deliver two gold medals on Saturday (July 30) and a silver medal on Sunday (July 31), could not keep the momentum going today when Mohamad Nasir Roslan could only finish seventh in the 81-kilogramme (kg) category.

Day Five is also set to see the start of the athletics programme at the Alexander Stadium here and Malaysia will have discus thrower Muhammad Irfan Shamsuddin in action in the qualifying round.

At the end of Day Four yesterday, Malaysia have hauled in two golds, two silvers and two bronzes.

Australia continue to lead the medal tally with a haul of 31 golds, 20 silvers and 20 bronzes, followed by England (21-22-11) and New Zealand (13-7-4).
