Malaysia was chosen for the second time to host the Asian Extreme Sports Championship 2013 to be held at the Rakan Muda Sports Complex, Bukit Kiara at the end of the month.
The secretary-general of the Malaysian Extreme Sports Association (MESA), Manjit Singh said the two-day championship beginning June 29 would involve contests in three sports namely 'disciplines of skateboard', 'aggressive inline' and 'bicycle motocross' (BMX).
More than 100 athletes were expected to participate in the championship, he told Bernama Saturday.
"Several top athletes from Asian countries such as Thailand, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia, India, as well as the West Asian countries are expected to take part in the championship," he said.
For the record, Malaysia hosted the 2005 edition of the Asian Extreme Sports Championship.
