Malaysia went down tamely 1-4 to Saudi Arabia in a friendly international match at Shah Alam Stadium, here Sunday night.

The Saudi Arabian squad or better known as 'The Green Falcons' started aggressively to slot in a goal in the seventh minute through a header by their lethal striker Yousef Al-Salem.

The squad under coach Lopez Caro later increased the score through Yahya Al-Shehri in the 29th minute after he ran pass the Harimau Malaya defence.

In the second half, Harimau Malaya went on the offensive looking for the elusive goal.

Skipper Norsharul Idlan Talaha missed a golden opportunity when his attempt in the 52nd minute was saved by Saudi Arabian goalkeeper.

However, Safiq Rahim pulled one back for Malaysia when he slotted in Harimau Malaya's only goal in the 70th minute.

Stunned, the visitors came back with a vengeance to inflict further injuries on the national squad when Naif Hazazi put Saudi three up in the 88th minute before Hamdan Al-Hamdan sealed the score with the fourth goal at the last minute.

At the final whistle, it was Malaysia 1, Saudi Arabia 4.

Malaysia are scheduled to meet Yemen in the 2015 Asia Cup Group D qualifying match at Shah Alam Stadium this Friday
