Malaysia make clean sweep at 17th Asian Junior Squash Team Championship

The national junior boys and girls squash squads won the CIMB Foundation 17th Asian Junior Squash Team Championship here, today.
A solid display by the boys helped Malaysia to beat fancied Pakistan 2-0 in the men's final at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil.
However, Malaysia had to stave off a stubborn Hong Kong before winning 2-1 in the final of the women's category.
Ng Eain Yow put Malaysia on the road to victory over Pakistan when he won the first point in the men's final.
He put up a superb performance to outlast Tayyab Aslam 11-6, 11-13, 4-11, 11-3 and 7-11.
Malaysia's second and winning point was contributed by Darren Chan Ti Lunn who easily beat Muhammad Asim Khan 8-11, 10-12 and 4-11.
Rachel Mae Arnold gave Malaysia the lead over Hong Kong when she beat Choi Uen Shan 11-9, 11-5 and 11-9 in the first match of the women's final.
The second point was won by Teh Min Jie who fought hard to beat a stubborn Ho Ka Wing 11-8, 10-12, 4-11, 11-4 and 11-9.
However, third player Sivasangari Subramaniam lost to Lui Hiu Lam 11-13, 5-11, 16-14 and 11-13.
The Malaysian boys and girls finished third at the 16th Asian Junior Squash Team Championship in Seoul two years ago.
