The English Premier League (EPL) giants, Liverpool Football Club (LFC) is not going to give an easy path for Malaysia Selection in the pre-season match at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, on Friday.
The Reds' midfielder, Adam Lallana said the players are taking the pre-season tour seriously to impress the club manager, Brendan Rodgers before the start of the 2015/16 season.
"We treat (pre-season) very seriously and we got two or three more games before the start of the season to impress the manager. For us, this is a big chance to show how fit we are and what condition we will be when playing the first game of EPL," he told reporters after the club's training session at the venue, on Thursday.
The 27-year-old England international was also delighted with the tremendous support shown by the local fans since their arrival in the country on Monday from Australia by singing the club's song, 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.
Sharing his views is skipper Jordan Henderson who praised the excellent pitch condition at the venue.
"The pitch looks so well. The fans support (here) is incredible and I hope more fans will come to watch the game, tomorrow," he said.
Liverpool FC mauled Super League club side, Felda United FC (FUFC) 7-0 in the practice match after the training session ended.
The Merseyside club started their pre-season tour by gunning down Thai All Stars 4-0 in Bangkok on July 14 before defeating A-League sides, Brisbane Roar 2-1 on Friday and beating Adelaide United 2-0 Monday night in Australia.
The Reds will continue their journey to Northern Europe for their last pre-season tour match against Finnish side, HJK Helsinki on August 1 at the 10,770- capacity Sonera Stadium in Helsinki.
The last time Liverpool played in Malaysia was in 2011 when former national coach Datuk K. Rajagobal's boys put up a sizzling performance before a sell-out crowd at the National Stadium despite losing 3-6.
To date, about 60,000 tickets priced at RM58 (student), RM88, RM158 and RM228 with a limited number of VIP seats priced at RM428 and RM328, have been sold by the organisers in the 85,000-capacity stadium.
Tickets are now available for purchase via online at ticketpro.com.my, hotline +603-7880-7999, Ticketpro outlets as well as New Balance and Sports Empire outlets.
