Malaysia vs Taiwan in Thomas Cup quarter-final

Malaysia registered three straight wins, 4-1 against England and 5-0 over Germany en route to topping Group C.
Malaysia were drawn against Taiwan in the quarter-final of the 2016 Thomas Cup Finals.
Malaysia topped Group C by edging South Korea 3-2 and managed to avoid seeded teams like China in the quarter-final.
Malaysia registered three straight wins, 4-1 against England and 5-0 over Germany en route to topping Group C.
In a draw ceremony held after the completion of group matches at 1 am today, defending champion Japan drew Denmark while hosts China would clash against South Korea and Indonesia against Hong Kong.
In the Uber Cup, defending champions and top seeds China face Taiwan, while Japan will take on Denmark.
South Korea would have to counter the challenge of Indonesia while Thailand would play India.
The draw for the knock-out stage was conducted after the group stage which confirmed the top two teams from each group.
In the Thomas Cup, China and Japan emerged No.1 and No.2 in Group A; Indonesia and Hong Kong in Group B; Malaysia and Korea in Group C and Denmark and Taiwan in Group D.
In the Uber Cup, China and Denmark were No.1 and No.2 in Group A; South Korea and Taiwan in Group B; Thailand and Indonesia in Group C and Japan and India in Group D.
The ceremony was held in the presence of the Chief Referee, team managers and media, a few of whom were invited to pick the sealed canisters containing team names and place in the draw.
