Malaysia wins first gold medal at Fina Diving Grand Prix

Malaysian Olympian Ng Yan Yee collected Malaysia's first gold medal on the second day of the 2016 FINA Diving Grand Prix at the Sarawak Aquatics Centre here today.
She managed 338.25 points from five dives to grab the gold medal in the 3m springboard women's final.
China's Wang Han accumulated 333.60 points to grab the silver medal while her team mate Huang Xiaohui collected 322.30 points to take the bronze medal.
Meanwhile, Malaysian pair Ooi Tze Liang and Chew Yi Wei took the silver medal in the men's 3m springboard synchronised after they collected 394.71 points.
The gold medal went to China's pair of Huang Bowen and Xie Siyi with 415.20 points. Only two teams participated in the event.
China's pair of Xia Yujie and Xia BingQing also won the gold medal in the women's 10m platform synchronised final with a total of 332.34 points, defeating United States pair Tarrin Gilliland and Delaney Schnell who settled for the silver medal with 288.48 points. Only two teams participated in the event.
Meanwhile, only two teams participated in the men's 10m platform synchronised final this morning which saw China's pair of Xu Zewei and Yang Hao take the gold medal after they collected 426.54 pointa.
The silver medal went to Russia's pair of Belevtsev Aleksandr and Bondar Aleksandr, collecting 381.18 points.
Tomorrow is the last day of the meet with two finals, the women's 3m springboard synchronised and men's 10m platform. -- Bernama
