It was a proud moment for Malaysia as Muhammad Aiman Raziz Affindi defeated Chen Lei of China at ONE Championship ‘Beyond The Horizon’ in Shanghai, Saturday night.
‘Jungle Cat’ Aiman pulled off the upset victory, handing Chen Lei the first defeat in his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career.
During the first round, Muhammad Aiman had to overcome a hot start from Chen, who effortlessly mauled the Malaysian with his grappling expertise.
The complexion of the bantamweight encounter took a drastic turn in the closing moments of the second round when Aiman caught Chen with a staggering knee strike.
Aiman then hopped onto the back of Chen, fastening a body triangle before wrenching his opponent’s neck with a rear naked choke.
Aiman had no intention to let go of the submission hold, adding more pressure to the strangle that sent Chen into sleep.
The victory sets Aiman’s professional MMA record to 5-2.
