Malaysian featherweight sensation, Ev ‘E.T.’ Ting will be headlining ONE Championship’s fight card, as the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion returns to Kuala Lumpur this January 29.
Ting is scheduled to lock horns in the ‘Malaysia Warrior Bout’ at ONE: Clash Of Heroes with Filipino fighter, Eric ‘The Natural’ Kelly.
The 26-year-old is one of the country’s most promising young talents. His exceptional 10-3 record has come against solid opposition.
Born in Malaysia but raised in New Zealand, Ting was always driven by his ambition to be the best in whatever he did.
Fresh off a Guillotine Choke submission victory in his last fight against Philippine’s Honorio Banario, Ting is known to be a ferocious striker with a well-rounded ground game making him a complete fighter.
He will look to play off the energy of his hometown crowd when he takes on Kelly, who is undoubtedly one of the most talented fighters to come out of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, ONE Championship CEO Victor Cui said that 2016 is likely to be a phenomenal year for mixed martial arts in Asia as they are doing their best to produce the best fights for the fans worldwide.
“Ev Ting has really proven that homegrown Malaysian mixed martial artists can go toe-to-toe with the best in the world and will now face his sternest test against one of the best fighters in his division in Eric Kelly,” he said in a statement.
Other Malaysian MMA warriors confirmed in the card so far are Muay Thai specialist Saiful Merican, who will going against Philippines’ Geje Eustaquio; Keannu Subba of the Subba Brothers taking on former SEA Games karate gold medalist, Rayner Kinsiong; and former MIMMA champion Agilan Thani going against James Kouame of Canada.
Besides that, fights to look out for that night include Christian Lee (Singapore) vs David Meak (Cambodia), Jake Butler (USA) vs Tatsuya Mizuno (Japan) and Samir Mrabet (Belgium) vs Sami Amin (Egypt).
The event presented by Tune Talk will be held at Stadium Negara and tickets can be purchased at www.AirAsiaRedTix.com.
