After falling short in his title shot against ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard Folayang last April, Malaysian MMA hero Ev Ting said is looking forward to redeem himself at ONE Championship's fight in Kuala Lumpur tonight.
The 28-year-old fighter will be facing Japanese mixed martial arts veteran Nobutatsu Suzuki.
Ting said he is confident that he would emerge victorious in this upcoming fight against the former ONE Welterweight World Champion, who owns a professional record of 11 wins, and two losses.
"I'm going to be the smarter fighter, and simply I'm going to come out with the 'W' (win). Obviously, if he gives me the opportunity I'm going to knock him out.
"If I catch a knick in a scramble I'm going to rip that knick off. So which ever opportunity I can get," he told Astro AWANI in a interview recently.
Ting owns a stellar 13-4 professional record, including four wins by submission and four exciting knockouts.
A winner of four of his last five bouts over top-caliber opponents, Ting is one of the most talented competitors to come out of Malaysia.
Ting, who currently lives and trains in Auckland, New Zealand, holds a record of 13 wins and four losses in his professional career.
"I'm always prepared to fight, mentally I'm always prepared. Physically I spent my training back in Auckland MMA, and I feel more confident going into this one.
"I'm gonna turn Nobutatsu Suzuki into Nobutatsu sashimi," he added.
