Six fighters were pronounced new champions, while two others managed to defend their respective titles at the Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts Fighting Championship season 3 (MIMMA3) Grand Finals, Saturday night.
Seasoned MIMMA contestant, Muhammad Aiman from Negeri Sembilan mesmerised the crowd at Stadium Putra when he knocked out his opponent, Hafizul Hakim from Sabah in round 1.
The fight started with Aiman attacking fearlessly towards Hafizul, taking over the fight completely.
Hafizul was defenceless when Aiman executed ground and pound from the back, which forced the Sabahan to tap out.
The referee then declared Aiman the victor via technical knockout (TKO), crowning him the new Malaysian Invasion Featherweight Champion.
Commenting about the fight, the 20-year-old boxer and wrestler who is now in his third season at MIMMA, admitted that the third time is indeed a charm.
Now at season 3, Aiman had moved up from bantamweight to featherweight and is the only finalist who returned to the amateur tournament since the first season.
Meanwhile, two fighters managed to clinch on to their respective titles - MIMMA heavyweight champion Darren Low from Sabah defeated Niker Tan from Penang, and MIMMA flyweight champion Seah Zhang Yu also from Penang defeated Dhiaaul Amal from Kuala Lumpur.
During the heavyweight bout, Darren displayed a spectacular quick finish when he rained powerful punches to his defenceless opponent to declare him the winner in just 13 seconds!
While in the flyweight bout, Dhiaaul and Zhang Yu proved that both contenders are the best flyweight fighters in the country.
The two warriors exchanged blows, strikes and punches minute after minute, taking the fight to the fifth and final round.
But a hard jab to the jaw in round 3 left Dhiaaul dazed, providing an opening for Zhang Yu to dominate the cage and defend his championship title.
Below are the official results of the MIMMA3 Championship Bouts:
