Lightweight world champion, Shinya Aoki will be defending his title against Philippines' Eduard Folayang, as the two athletes face each other at ONE Championship's 'Defending Honor', next month.
Aoki, from Japan, is one of the world’s most decorated mixed martial artists -- a former Shooto welterweight champion and DREAM lightweight champion.
The 33-year-old also holds black belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo, and has won multiple grappling tournaments across the globe.
Aoki is currently riding a nine-fight win streak, and is set to step back inside the ONE Championship cage to defend his lightweight title.
His opponent, Folayang, is one of the Philippines’ most experienced mixed martial artists, with more than eight years as a professional fighter competing in various promotions.
Currently at the peak of his abilities as a combat sports athlete, Folayang will get the opportunity of a lifetime when he steps inside the cage.
Meanwhile, in the co-main event, ONE featherweight world champion Marat Gafurov will meet former title holder Narantungalag Jadambaa of Mongolia in a highly-anticipated rematch.
Gafurov, who hails from Russia, has an undefeated streak of 14 wins and no losses, and a high-level grappler with 10 of his wins gained by impressive submissions.
His opponent, Jadambaa, is one of the top contenders in ONE Championship’s featherweight division, with 12 wins and four losses.
The event, scheduled to held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 11 November, will also see fights between Hong Kong's Eddie Ng and Adrian Pang from Australia; Timofey Nastyukhin of Russia and Japan's Kotetsu Boku; Amir Khan (Singapore) and Samir Mrabet (Belgium); and a women's bout between Brazil's Michelle Nicolini and Mona Samir of Egypt.
