WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar made a successful UFC comeback after a nearly five-year absence from mixed martial arts by defeating no. 8-ranked contender Mark Hunt in the heavyweight bout, The Sun UK reported Sunday.
The former champion took off with a superb start in the first round, taking down his opponent and nullifying the former K-1 kickboxing champion's infamous one-punch KO prowess.
Hunt rallied in the second round and began to find his range with his punches, but Lesnar managed to take Hunt down again in the third round and rained series of heavy-handed ground strikes.
The fight went on with Lesnar receiving a score of 29-27 on all three of the judges’ scorecards to land him a unanimous decision victory.
According to Fox Sports, Lesnar was given permission by his employers at WWE to return for UFC 200, but after his stunning performance recently, it seems pretty possible that he would return to the UFC Octagon more often.
He won the UFC heavyweight title in just his fourth professional fight back in 2008, but lost his belt while battling with crippling stomach disease diverticulitis.
Lesnar attempted a comeback after having 12 inches of his colon removed, but was defeated by Alistair Overeem and subsequently announced his retirement from MMA, returning to life as a professional wrestler.
