More bonus awaits the Selangor football squad after winning the Malaysia Cup, defeating Kedah 2-0 in the final at Shah Alam Stadium, last night.

Team manager Amirudin Shari, when met, said the players were already rewarded with RM30,000 each after they qualified for the final when they beat Pahang in the semi-finals.

"Our target was to advance to the final with an offer of a RM30,000 reward each. Since we had achieved that, we had sorted out the reward last Friday.

"Last night (after the victory), we had asked the Selangor Menteri Besar (Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali) about rewarding the team.

"After such an accomplishment, surely the menteri besar will offer a reward but the amount will be announced later," said Amirudin.

Selangor first won the Malaya Cup, forerunner of the Malaysia Cup, in 1922. Last night's victory in the most prestigious Malaysian League campaign was their 33rd after the last in 2005.
