Badminton Association of Malaysia's (BAM) newly appointed technical director Morten Frost Hansen is ready to take on the challenge to revive Malaysia's fortune in badminton.

Frost, known as 'Mr Badminton' who started work today said he had discussed the task with all the coaches, including coaching method, that had been applied in BAM.

"The (technical director position) is a very exciting job. I love badminton...I hope we (coaching community) will do very well... I come back because it's a great challenge.

"I am looking forward to it and of course we have to look into the short term and the long term planning. We had a meeting with all coaches and it was a very good straight forward meeting," he told reporters at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara, here Monday.

Earlier, Frost from Denmark, was reviewing national badminton players who were training at the stadium.

Frost who was previously BAM's coaching director from 1997-2000 has signed a five-year contract with the National Sports Council.

When asked to comment on the doping case of Chong Wei, Frost said BAM were in the process of preparing a strong case before attending the trial with the BWF Doping Hearing Panel.

"I would say that (the doping case) is out of my jurisdiction because it was something that happened a long time ago. I'm sure Chong Wei is having his very best defence. Let the experts make their decision," said Frost.

Chong Wei meanwhile, when met by reporters said he has yet to receive information on the date for the hearing.

Speaking of Frost's appointment as the BAM Technical Director, Chong Wei said he was confident that Frost would be able to bring about a holistic change in the country's badminton arena.

"I knew him (Frost) when I was just 17, and just starting off my career. He is a good and experienced coach and a man who had assisted me to become a National player," said Chong Wei.
