Rafael Nadal and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga joined Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray in the Rogers Cup quarter-finals on Thursday.
Nadal made it 13 wins in 17 meetings with Mikhail Youzhny, the Spanish seventh seed cruising to a 6-3 6-3 victory over the Russian qualifier.
The 14-time grand slam champion was dominant at the ATP 1000 event in Montreal, and he broke three times on his way to victory.
Up next for Nadal is Japanese fourth seed Kei Nishikori, who was too good for Belgian David Goffin in a 6-4 6-4 win.
It was a good day for the big guns in Canada.
World number one Djokovic needed just 54 minutes to thrash American Jack Sock 6-2 6-1.
A trickier clash is set to follow for the Serbian, who will face Ernests Gulbis after the Latvian overcame Donald Young 6-4 6-4 in a clash between two qualifiers.
Murray was similarly untroubled, the Brit cruising past Luxembourgian left-hander Gilles Muller 6-3 6-2 in just 65 minutes.
The second seed will next face defending champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga after the Frenchman got past Bernard Tomic 7-6 (9-7) 6-3.
A day after his controversial sledge aimed at Stan Wawrinka, Tomic's Australian countryman Nick Kyrgios was booed and went down to John Isner 7-5 6-3.
Isner will face Jeremy Chardy after the Frenchman's 4-6 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 win over big-serving Croatian Ivo Karlovic.
