Nicol advances to last eight at Women's World Squash Championship

Malaysian squash queen, Datuk Nicol David has made it to the quarter-finals of the 2017 Women's World Squash Championship that is being held at El Gouna Squash Centre in Cairo.
Nicol, the sixth seeded player only took 37 minutes to dispose off the 10th seed, Annie Au of Hong Kong, winning in 12-10, 11-4 and 13-11 in the second round today, according to the tournament website;www.elgounasquashopen.com.
The 33-year-old Penangite who is vying to secure her ninth world title will meet one of two Egyptian players -- 4th seeded Nouran Gohar or 11th seed Nour El Tayeb, who will square-off in another second round match, later today.
For the record, Nicol has won the world title eight times, in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014.
