Nicol David extend reigns as world No.1 for 106 months

Despite only clinching one title this season, Malaysia's squash queen, Datuk Nicol David has maintained her position as the world number one player for 106 consecutive months.
The 31-year old Penangite who lifted the Cleveland Classic Open in United States in February accumulated 3,590 points to strengthened her position in the top ranking, according to the latest world rankings issued by the Women's International Squash Player Association (Wispa), Friday..
Nicol's arch rival, Raneem El Welily of Egypt also cemented her spot in second place with 2,998 points while two Englands players, Alison Waters and Laura Massaro remain in third and fourth place respectively with 1,540 and 1,424 points Malaysia's number two player, Low Wee Wern on the other hand, moved up one spot to seventh place with 1,066 points despite still searching for her inaugural title this season.
