National squash queen and world number one player, Datuk Nicol David moves closer to clinching her ninth Hong Kong Open title as she cruised into the final of the tournament held at the Hong Kong Squash Centre glass court, today.
The top seed only took 27 minutes to overcome Amanda Sobhy of United States with a 11-8, 11-4 and 11-2 win in the semi final match, according to the tournament's website; www.hksquashopen.com.
Nicol has won the Hong Kong Open for a record eight times -- 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
She will be meeting Nour El Tayeb of Egypt in tomorrow's finals.
Nour El defeated world number two, Laura Massaro of England 11-9,10-12,11-2,12-10 in 47 minutes.
