Nicol storms into Hong Kong Open semis

Malaysia's world number one women's squash player Datuk Nicol Ann David has qualified for the semi-final of the 2014 Hong Kong Open squash championship.
In the quarter-final held at the Hong Kong Squash Centre glass court in Hong Kong Friday, the Penangite defeated Hong Kong's Joey Chan to book her semi-final berth.
Nicol once again had an easy passage in her quest for her ninth Hong Kong Open title when she won the quarter-final match in straight sets, 11-8, 11-4 and 11-3 in 27 minutes.
She will be meeting Amanda Sobhy of the United States, who defeated Camille Serme of France, 11-5, 1-11, 11-7 and 11-3 in 37 minutes in another quarter-final match.
Nicol has won the Hong Kong Open for a record eight times -- since 2006.
