No element of corruption in controversial FAM pendrive - MACC

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) found no elements of corruption in its investigation into the pendrive which contains a report on alleged incidents of corrupt practices in the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

It was confirmed by MACC director of investigations Datuk Azam Baki who said in a statement today, the commission would send a report to the FAM soon regarding the matter.

"MACC would like to confirm that it has finished examining the contents of the pendrive and satisfied that it did not contain any element of corruption under the MACC Act 2009.

"The MACC will accordingly submit a report to FAM for the purpose of improvement process and its further action, especially on the technical issues that have been raised," Azam said.

At the same time, MACC has expressed its commitment to cooperate with FAM in holding further discussion should there arise any elements of corruption.

The pendrive was given by Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim to Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin on August 26.

Khairy then handed over the pendrive to the MACC last Friday.
