Malaysian fight fans will get to witness the first ever back-to-back mixed martial arts (MMA) action this October when ONE Championship and Tune Talk team up to bring two blockbuster MMA events at Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil.
First up, on October 9, ONE Championship is set to entertain fans with ONE: Tigers Of Asia - featuring top local and international professional MMA athletes.
Then, on October 10, MMA's finest amateur athletes will battle it out in the cage for the Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) season 3 Grand Finals.
The event will see top contenders challenging the current title holders in their respective weight divisions for the chance to be crowned the new champion of the amateur league.
Apart from that, audience will get to see two new categories, both ready for the coronation of their inaugural champions – the Female Catchweight and Foreign Catchweight divisions.
CEO of ONE Championship, Victor Cui said ONE is very excited to bring fight week to Kuala Lumpur together with Tune Talk as they know Malaysian fans are craving for the excitement.
"They are all very excited to see their favourite local and international MMA heroes back in the cage!" he said.
Cui also said that Tune Talk has been ONE’s partner in Malaysia ever since they started, and have been pivotal in helping produce local MMA talent here through their amateur fight tournament, MIMMA.
"MIMMA has uncovered so many new talents and ONE would serve as a great platform for them to go professional someday, representing their country on an international platform.
"This October, there will be an extra special fight week as there will be two fight events happening in Kuala Lumpur, specially for ONE and MIMMA fans," he added.
Meanwhile, Tune Talk CEO and MIMMA co-creator Jason Lo said they are very excited to partner with ONE for the explosive MMA week.
"MIMMA has been another great success this year and we can’t wait to see who will dominate their own categories in the Grand Finals this October 10.
"Some of our previous winners have already progressed to the professional league in the ONE cage and we would like to produce more future world champions from Malaysia in a world-class organization such as ONE through MIMMA," he said.
A special weigh-in ceremony combining both professional and amateur fighters from ONE and MIMMA as well as an MMA summit with seminars being held in local gyms, will also be held during that week.
