The Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee threw Pahang a lifeline to remain in the Super League next season by reversing the result of their match against Kedah.
The FAM Disciplinary Committee which met yesterday reversed the result of the Kedah versus Pahang match on Aug 3 (Kedah won 1-0) and awarded Pahang a 3-0 win after finding Kedah guilty of using a suspended player.
According to the case, Kedah had fielded Mohd Rizal Mohd Ghazali in the match against Pahang at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar on Aug 3, although the player was facing an automatic suspension for accumulating three yellow cards.
Apart from losing three points, Kedah were also fined RM5,000 and issued a stern warning against such offences in the future.
The three points earned saw Pahang move up to 10th spot, leaving Penang in 11th spot and Terengganu in the last spot.
