PM Najib congratulates national netball team
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak congratulates the national netball team for defeating Sri Lanka 41-31 in the final match at the Chanthanayingyong Gymnasium in Bangkok yesterday.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today congratulated the national netball team for ending the 31-year drought by winning the Asian Netball Championships.
"Congratulation! Our netball team is the winner of the Asian Netball Championships, bringing home for the first time the trophy since 1985," he said in his latest Twitter posting.
The national netball team defeated Sri Lanka 41-31 in the final match at the Chanthanayingyong Gymnasium in Bangkok, Thailand, yesterday to emerge the champion.
The last time Malaysia won the championship was in Kuala Lumpur in 1985.
