Malaysia bags another silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics as national shuttler Datuk Lee Chong Wei lost to China's Chen Long in the men's singles final badminton match Saturday night.
Chen Long defeated world number one player Chong Wei in straight sets, 21-18, 21-18 in a heart-stopping match in Rio de Janeiro.
Chong Wei made it to the final after beating his arch rival, two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan, 15-21, 21-11, 22-20 in an epic semi-final showdown in Rio de Janeiro.
This is the fourth silver medal for Malaysia at Rio 2016, where the other three silver medals were obtained through badminton doubles Goh V. Shem-Tan Wee Kiong, mixed doubles pair Goh Liu Ying and Chan Peng Soon and diving pair, Pandelela Rinong and Cheong Jun Hoong.
National cyclist Azizulhasni Awang clinched Malaysia's sole bronze medal in the keirin event last Tuesday.
