Rio Paralympics: Siti Noor Radiah wins bronze medal in long jump

Siti Noor Radiah Ismail presented the Malaysian contingent with a bronze medal via the T20 women's long jump at Rio Paralympic Games, Thursday.
She recorded a jump of 5.20 metres in her third attempt to simultaneously break her Asia Para Games record of 5.10 metres in Incheon, South Korea in 2014.
Meanwhile, another Malaysian athlete, Siti Noor Iasah Mohamad Ariffin finished in fourth place with a leap of 4.91 metres.
The gold medal went to Mikela Ristoki of Croatia (5.79 metres), while the world and Paralympics record holder from Poland, Karolina Kucharczyk had to be content with the silver medal with 5.55 metres.
Kucharczyk's world record in the event was 6.09 metres made at the IPC Athletics Championship in Lyon, France in 2013 while the Paralympic Games record was 6.00 metres at 2012 London Olympic Games. -- BERNAMA
