The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to hold the second semi-final FA Cup match between Pahang and Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) at 8.45pm at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Saturday.
FAM assistant secretary-general (Local) Datuk Ahmad Fuad Daud said an inspection by FAM officials on the floodlights at the stadium tonight found the level of lighting exceeding 1,000 lux, enabling a night match.
"The stadium management has given its assurance that a damaged light in the left-hand corner of the grandstand will be rectified tonight.
"They have conducted a test on the light from noon today until 9pm, and there were no glitches. We are confident the match will run smoothly," he told reporters after visiting the stadium on Thursday.
Local Competition Committee chairman Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin was on wednesday reported as saying the match between the two teams would be held at 4.15pm as the Shah Alam Stadium was being used for a concert, while the National Stadium was having problems with its floodlights.
Meanwhile, the Johor Football Association (PBNJ), through a media statement, questioned FAM'S decision which it viewed as lopsided over its failure to give special allocation for supporters of JDT to see the match.
Ahmad Fuad, who chaired the match organising committee meeting, said 60,000 tickets would be given to the Pahang Football Association (PBNP) while the balance of 20,000 would be sold to the public from 9am tomorrow at the stadium.
"But keep in mind that Pahang was penalised for failing to take adequate security measures in the match that should have taken place on May 28.
"Now, they are giving PBNP the privilege of playing and acting as host at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil which can accommodate more that 80,000 spectators, and the proceeds would go to PBNP," said the statement.
It also stated that the suggestion by PBNJ president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim yesterday, that the two teams play without their respective supporters was to ensure the chaotic incident which had occurred prior to this, would not recur.
