Starting today, sports enthusiasts will be able to purchase tickets for the 29th SEA Games and the 9th ASEAN Para Games to held in August and September, respectively.
According to Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, the KL2017 ticket sales is a mechanism to systematically control the crowd attendance due to the limited capacity to certain match venues.
“Today’s announcement is very exciting as it has been long awaited by national sports fans. The last time we became the host was 16 years ago. This is the time to rise together and I hope Malaysians will take this opportunity to attend the events as they show their undivided support to our national athletes," said Khairy.
This year's edition of SEA Games will see 19 sports events which will require paid tickets including aquatics (diving, swimming, synchronised and water polo, badminton, gymnastics, karate, taekwondo, pencak silat, futsal, netball, rugby, cycling, basketball, sepak takraw, billiard, snooker, muay and football.
The KL2017 tickets will be on sale at www.kualalumpur2017.com.my until the final day of the biannual regional sporting events.
Tickets may be purchased via cash, debit card or credit card. Tickets will also be available at selected outlets which will be announced at a later date.
