Super League leaders Selangor are ready to play host to newly-crowned Europa League champions Sevilla FC in an international friendly at the Shah Alam Stadium on Monday.

Its chief coach, Mehmet Durokovic said The Red Giants were upbeat about the match.

"It's a real pleasure and honour to have the Spanish giants in Malaysia and hopefully, we will see a very good game on Monday," he told a news conference, here on Saturday.

Mehmet said although Selangor's focus was on Saturday's league match against Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), he would make sure that his players would be fighting fit for the friendly on Monday.

Meanwhile, Selangor Football Association deputy president Datuk Mokhtar Ahmad said that it was a dream come true for him to witness Selangor playing against the Spanish giants.

"I hope the players will learn more of the European's style of football from the true champions and apply it in our league," he said.

Sevilla FC vice-president Jose Maria Del Nido said the team was proud to meet local fans as a representative of the Spanish football.

Also present were Liga de Futbol Profesional (LFP) World Challenge ambassador Cesar Augusto Lendoiro, Sevilla FC chief coach Unai Emery, and Sevilla FC captain Fernando Navaro.

Tickets priced at RM20 are available at the Shah Alam Stadium. However, those who have Saturday's match ticket between Selangor and JDT could use it as afree entrance to the friendly.
