Singapore, why did you ban our football supporters from entering the Republic? - KJ

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin is seeking an explanation over an incident where a group of Malaysian football fans were denied entry at the Tuas checkpoint, Singapore has got the national Twitter community abuzz, with football aficionados deriding certain quarters over the fiasco.
Khairy in the latest Facebook entry wrote that he has received information about the alleged fans who were apprehended and denied entry to enter Singapore to watch the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 match between Malaysia and Myanmar, on Sunday.
Photos of the notice of the ban -- issued by the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority – has reportedly gone viral on the social media.

“My administration has written to the Singapore authorities seeking explanation as to why those Maaysians were mistreated and denied access into Singapore to support their own national team, said Khairy in the posting.
"I have been informed that the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore was packed with Myanmar supporters who flocked the venue complete with banners and flags boasting of the country.
“I respect the procedure imposed by a foreign country, but I’m disappointed over the treatment received by the Malaysian football fans.
Khairy pledges to be transparent in Singapore's response over the matter and will too, reveal the Ministry's subsequent move.

Malaysia's heated campaign got off rather miserable after being held to a scoreless draw by Myanmar in a Group B action at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Sunday.
Football Association Malaysia secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin when contacted by Astro AWANI said that the association is working closely with the Singapore authorities pertaining the matter.
