State holiday tomorrow if Kedah wins Malaysia Cup - Mukhriz

Tomorrow will be a state holiday if Kedah wins the Malaysia Cup final against Selangor tonight at the Shah Alam Stadium.

Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir said the proposal was discussed at the Kedah state exco meeting and had received the consent of the Kedah Regency Council.

"If the Kedah football team beats Selangor to win the Malaysia Cup tonight, tomorrow (Sunday Dec 13, which is a working day in Kedah) will be declared a state holiday.

"However, if employees are required to work on a state holiday, employers must follow the normal remuneration awarded for such state or public holidays," he said in a statement today.
