Johor Darul Ta'zim team (JDT) beat club side Felda United FC (FUFC) 1-0 in the sole Super League match played on Sunday night at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos here.
The win pushed JDT up four rungs to second spot in the league, sharing 18 points with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) but PDRM were ahead with a superior goal difference.
Playing in front of 25,000 supporters, JDT sought to seek an early goal by launching attack after attack and almost scored via Safiq Rahim in the 16th minute. However, it was thwarted by the visitor's goal keeper Mohd Farizal Harun.
The Southern Tigers' imported player from Argentina, Patricio Julian Rodriguez scored via a penalty in the 45th minute after he was fouled by FUFC defender, Shahrul Mohd Saad.
Both teams continued their onslaught on the opposition's goal but failed to score any more goals until the match ended.
