Terengganu government expected to reward state hockey players

The Terengganu state government are expected to reward the Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) for winning the TNB Cup yesterday and completing a grand double as they have also won the Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) earlier.
Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman who was full of praise for the players, is expected to make an announcement soon.
He said the presence of former Terengganu Menteri Besar among the 10 bus load of fans at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil yesterday, was like a tonic to the players.
"Yesterday's match was critical and a close encounter but the presence of fans who came in 10 buses and the presence of former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said actually provided the right tonic for the players," he told Bernama after visiting fire victims, here Monday.
THT edged Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) 5-4 on penalties after both teams were tied 1-1 in regulation time.
Meanwhile, Terengganu Hockey Association president Datuk Wan Ahmad Nizam Wan Abdul Hamid said the win would not only raise the confidence of the team, it would also serve as a big boost to the promotion of hockey in the state.
