The lack of communications among players caused Terengganu to move like turtles in the first half of the match against Johor Darul Takzim II (JDT II) at Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium last night.
Coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim said it was lucky the players managed to get hold of the situation and bounced back with two goals to snatch a draw.
"I am pleased with the game in the second half. Our boys played their heart out after a two-goal deficit at half-time. We have to improve our teamwork," he told reporters after the match last night.
JDT II pounced on the sluggish start by the Turtles yesterday to slot in two goals early in the game via Alex Smith in fourth minute and Muhd Syazwan Andik Mohd Ishak in the 10th minute.
Terengganu responded through Mohd Faiz Mohd Nasir in the 46th minute and Partiban K. Janasekaran equalised for the team four minutes later.
Irfan Bakti said Terengganu was fortunate to walk away with a 2-2 draw against JDT II yesterday and he would be drilling the new and old players to play more cohesively for their coming matches.
