Thomas Cup 2016: Malaysia beat Taiwan 3-1 to advance to semifinals

Malaysia advanced to the semifinals of the 2016 Thomas Cup tournament in Kunshan, China after beating Taiwan 3-1, with the winning point delivered by Koo Kien Keat - Tan Boon Heong, defeating Chen Hung Ling - Wang Chi Lin in straight sets, 21-16 22-20.
Malaysia took the early lead over Taiwan with the first point delivered by Datuk Lee Chong Wei, who beat Chou Tien Chen in straight sets, 21-18 21-18.
However, national doubles pair Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong failed to capitalize on their first set lead, eventually losing to Lee Sheng Mu - Tsai Chia Hsin in three sets, 21-16, 19-21 and 19-21, leveling the tally at 1-1.
Malaysia then took the lead again when second men's singles Iskandar Zulkarnain beat Hsu Jen Hao 21-8 21-13.
Malaysia will face either Japan or Denmark in the semifinals on Friday.
