Malaysia's dream of entering the finals of 2016 Thomas Cup tournament in Kunshan, China has been shattered after losing 2-3 to Denmark in the semi-finals round, Friday night.
Chong Wei Feng lost to Emil Holst 15-21, 18-21.
Earlier, national ace shuttler Datuk Lee Chong Wei gained the first point for Malaysia after defeating Viktor Axelsen in straight sets 23-21, 21-18.
National doubles, Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong contributed the second point for Malaysia after beating Danish pair, Mathias Boe-Mads Conrad-Petersen also in straight sets 21-18, 21-18.
However, Malaysia's second singles player, Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin lost to Hans-Kristian Vittinghus 18-21, 18-21.
Malaysian doubles Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong also lost to Danish pair, Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen 21-10, 8-21, 13-21.
Indonesia booked their tickets to the finals after beating South Korea 3-1, and will meet Denmark this Sunday.
