Three MISC-MIFA players may face expulsion over bribery - President

Its president, Datuk T. Mohan said the management would not compromise with any of its players and team officials who are confirmed to have involved in the immoral activity.

"We'll see the outcome of the investigation first...They will be expelled automatically if found guilty. However, if they are not guilty, it is up to the coach (Jacob Joseph) whether (he) is still keen to retain the service of the three players," he said.

Mohan told this to reporters when met after the Premier League match between MISC-MIFA and PKNP FC at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium here on Friday.

MISC-MIFA lost to PKNP FC 1-2.

Meanwhile, Jacob declined to comment over the case and leave the matter to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to conduct the investigation.

However, he admitted that the absence of the three players had affected the rhythm of the team, which had been struggling on not being eliminated from the league.

MISC-MIFA remained at the bottom of the league with six points following the seventh defeat out of nine matches played.

The MACC detained the trio, including an import player, yesterday after they were believed to have made thousands of ringgit in bribes.

The players were being remanded for six days to facilitate investigation.
