Timor Leste eighth destination for Rising Together Baton Run

The Rising Together Baton Run held in conjunction with Malaysia hosting the 29th SEA Games and the 9th ASEAN Para Games will continue in Dili, Timor Leste tomorrow.
The Malaysia SEA Games Organising Committee (MASOC) in a statement today said Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk M. Saravanan would lead the delegation in the seventh destination of the baton run.
He will be accompanied by the MASOC secretariat chief executive officer Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong, ministry's deputy secretary-general Haslina Abdul Hamid and the Rising Together Baton Run Committee chairman Ajitpal Singh.
The run will begin at the GMT Stadium and to cover a distance of 12 km, passing through several historical sites in Dili, including the Palace of the President of Timor-Leste, Farol Lighthouse, and the Jardim 5 de Maio (Park of the 5th May).
The statement added that Timor-Leste Minister of Tourism and Culture Francisco Kabualdy is also scheduled to participate in the run.
Cambodia will be the eighth destination of the run, which had already taken in Brunei, Philippine, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
Kuala Lumpur will host the 29th SEA Games from Aug 19 to 31 and the 9th ASEAN Para Games from Sept 17 to 23.
